DERMAROLLER - WHAT IS IT

Before we explain how and what dermarolling really is, lets explain what a dermaroller is and what it for. A dermaroller is a handheld needling roller device which is rolled on the surface of skin. This creates tiny punctures on the skin which triggers skin repair. This leads to the body making new collagen (depnding on the size of the roller). By doing this, proteins called amino-acids, build up in the collagen. This is the part of the connective tissue that helps in tightening , firmness, suppleness, and elasticity in skin. A short-term controlled injury to the skin is the purpose of applying a dermaroller to your skin. The reason why is to trigger the protein in our skin for the production of healthier younger looking complexion.

Consider dermarolling your skin to a body workout at the gym. You create a micro injury to your muscles while working out in the gym resulting in muscle repair strengthening and tightening. This is not a direct comparison but I hope you see the picture that is being painted.

Dermaroller Needle Size

Currnetly Image A.D.S dermarollers come in two different size needles, 02.mm & 0.5mm. There are a lot of people providing false information online about choosing the correct needle size so be sure to do your own research . What we recommend is 05.mm or anything under is perfect for at home rolling. Needle size over 0.5mm we would recommend going to a professional and getting a professional microneedlign treatment.

Dermaroller needle size 0.5mm - Boost Your Skin’s Production Of Collagen And Leave Your Skin Glowing, Smoother And More Evenly Toned! Great for reducing visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, but also amazing for skin in need of a tightening effect. The microneedling treatment has been developed to minimise cellulite and get rid of stretch marks and scars on the body. This is suited for anybody looking to treat wrinkles, fine lines, stretchmarks, UV damage, light scarring, and hyperpigmentation. It also helps in the boosting of product absorption for quicker and more efficient results.

Dermaroller needle size 0.2mm - This safely & effectively improves the overall texture and tone of your skin, leaving you with a healthy and vibrant glow and a naturally younger looking appearance. Ideal for younger skin or if you have thin or sensitive skin or are new to microneedling. The 0.2mm dermaroller is our smallest size, causing only micro-punctures to the epidermis (granular layer). This sleek skin roller promotes circulation, encourages natural exfoliation, and softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.Even with the shorter, gentler needles, you will still get plump, glowing skin with diminished pore size. Ideal size to begin with if you have thin and/or sensitive skin. Also recommended preventively for younger skin and for the delicate skin around the eyes. Perfect for the beginner!

Dermaroller Usage

Some information you read will tell you to roll every day. Please ignore this. It will do more damage than good to your skin. Only needles under 0.2mm are designed for daily treatment because of the dermaroller usage length of the needles. 0.5mm rollers cause micro trauma to your skin. Resulting in mild inflammation. As a result your body produces collagen to repair the trauma caused. Therefore considering the micro trauma the correct usage would be:

0.5mm - Up to once a week. Can be once every 2-3 weeks depdning on your skins tolerance.
0.2mm - 2-3 times weekly.

What Are The Benefits of Using a Dermaroller 0.5mm?

Dermaroller For Acne Scars

By causing controlled injury to the surface of the skin over the areas that are affected by acne scarring, we’re promoting our bodies natural healing ability to give our collagen and elastin that kick they need to do their job properly and come to the surface. Your skin basically goes into repair mode and repairs any of the damaged skin. A lot of people think that this is the same way that the treatment smooths out fine lines and wrinkles. It’s not. The treatment smooths out fine lines and wrinkles by producing collagen.
Have you been left with unsightly or even light acne scarring following breakouts? If so, you might be interested in grabbing our Image A.D.S 0.5mm Dermaroller. You should note that using the dermaroller is only okay over areas that are free from infection of any kind. For instance, if you have had a cold sore, you must wait at least 2 weeks after the cold sore has completely disappeared for dermaroller usage or to have micro needling treatment of any kind. The same principle applies to active acne. CLICK HERE TO VIEW 0.5mm

Dermaroller on stretch marks

The dermaroller works by breaking up damaged skin cells and causing the body to produce new collagen. The dermaroller won’t remove stretch marks after one or two treatments, but when the process is repeated, the dermal layers of the skin increase in thickness and the stretch gradually fade away, replaced by healthy, smooth skin.  For this concern we would recommend the 0.5mm.

Dermaroller on Wrinkles

Derma Roller on Wrinkles. Arguably, the most important benefit of dermaroller usage is the effect it has on fine lines and wrinkles (0.5mm). As we all know once we hit 25, collagen and elastin production begin to slow down meaning that the level of elasticity in our skin giving it that plumpness reduces gradually. The only way to stop this reduction naturally is through collagen induction therapy or CIT. Dermaroller usage is a form of collagen induction therapy. While using the derma roller on wrinkles, we are triggering our collagen and elastin naturally. It holds many benefits in opposed to artificial forms. When we say artificial, we mean anything our bodies don’t produce naturally such as botox and filler.

Hyperpigmentation

Dermarolling can be effective in minimizing any visible pigmentation or uneven skin tones. Those who suffer from pigmentation can become very self conscious and insecure where the pigmentation is highly noticeable. Luckily for those dermarolling, it can help shed surface pigmentation reducing the appearance of uneven skin tone. In addition to dermarolling promoting cell turn over to shed away surface pigment, you can also assist in both reducing and eliminate the production of pigmentation by using a tyrosine inhibitor as you roller your skin. This product works on suppressing and balancing your melanocytes preventing over activation which causes pigmentation in the first place. Its also hugely beneficial to continue using this product post treatment once you have created the micro channels needed to induce it deeper into the skin for better results.

Dermaroller on Neck

Ageing doesn’t just stop at the facial area, it appears all over our body. When it comes looking after your skincare, you should not just be focusing on the face, you should be concentrating on all of the following areas: Face. Neck. Jawline. Chest Areas. Stomach. In fact, When applying skincare products, we should be bringing them down as far as the nipple area to ensure full coverage of delicate ageing skin. What makes our Image A.D.S  Dermarollers a leading roller is it’s ability to be brought that bit further. The Image A.D.S dermaroller usage can be brought down as far as the above listed areas.

Dermaroller Procedure

You want bang for your buck! That’s understandable. No body invests in a product or any item for that matter hoping that it won’t achieve the desired result. Here are a few of the most common FAQ
Are the results permanent? When will I see results? How long will results last ?
In answer to how permanent the results are: Yes, the results are permanent. For example with acne scarring, if you are suffering with scarring, depending on the severity of the scarring you may need to use the roller more often to achieve your desired results. However, once these results are achieved, they are not reversible. They are permanent. You may experience new scarring if you are eligible for breakouts that could leave you with scarring but this will not allow old scarring to resurface. The scarring that is cleared up from using your dermaroller is gone forever. Insider advice! “Even after achieving your desired results, keep up the treatment. Your skin has got to where it is because you worked hard to get it there! Dermaroller usage will work to improve over all skin healthy so keeping it up is a no brainer.
